Certification systems such as WELL, LEED and GREENGUARD set standards for furniture and aim to reduce the use of hazardous substances and the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
GREENGUARD is a certification system for building materials, finishes and furnishings, including furniture products. The certification system sets health-based standards for the use of chemicals and VOC emissions levels to help ensure that products are acceptable for use in indoor environments.
A lot of Gabriel’s fabrics are tested according to ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 standard (ANSI/BIFMA e3 – 2019). You can find the tested fabrics here and read more about VOC testing here.
Please note, however, that Gabriel fabrics that have not been tested according to ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 standard are still expected to pass tests as a furniture component.
