The wool fibre has inherent flame retardant properties.
Gabriel fabrics are subject to a number of tests before they are released. One of these tests concerns flammability, and the label shows that the product can pass flammability tests. In addition, the flammability requirements and test methods can vary across nations, and therefore Gabriel products are often tested according to several standards.
Gabriel does not add flame retardants to the fabric as standard, as this is often not needed. As an example, the wool fibre is inherently flame retardant. However, all Trevira CS based products are made with inherenty flame retardant yarns, where phosphor-molecyles are chemically bound to the polyester fibre.
