When Denmark's and The Royal Theatre's new Opera House opened in Copenhagen in January 2005, Gabriel was among actors, musicians and guests in the restaurant. Specifically, it was Gabriel's microfibre fabric, Comfort, that clad the sofas and chairs from four furniture suppliers: Erik Jørgensen sofas in the actors' green room, Savo office chairs in the musicians' rehearsal room, Bent Krogh chairs in the restaurant and R. Randers, who delivered the sofas and easy chairs for backstage. In total, Gabriel has supplied 1,137 meters of Comfort to the new Opera House. Comfort was developed by Gabriel with an eye towards ultimate comfort, durability and washability - qualities that are paramount in a living environment with major activity and lots of people. The Opera House stands proudly at Copenhagen harbour, and was designed by one of Denmark's most famous architects, Henning Larsen. It's described as one of the world's most modern and advanced opera houses - a technical, architectural and artistic cornucopia that will serve as inspiration far into the future. The interior is decorated with works by some of Denmark's greatest artists.
