Every year, American furniture manufacturer Dune, New York, invites innovative and prominent designers to develop a design concept. For 2005, the Swedish designer trio Claesson Koivisto Rune (CKR) created LUNA, a self-contained interior living environment which was introduced at an exclusive event at Skylight in Manhattan in connection with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.
The designers about LUNA: "It radiates the spirit of the future, yet dwells on the luxurious loungy feel of the 1970s' Playboy mansion. In spite of the seemingly imaginary atmosphere, LUNA offers a functional experience with space for 30 of your dearest friends".
The structure is covered by polyurethane foam and upholstered with Europost - and no less than 160 metres of it.
