Steelcase, the world’s leading maker of office furniture, adheres to Cradle to Cradle.

Steelcase has been working with sustainability for many years and their declared goal is to leave the world in even better condition.

"We believe in a balanced approach to profit, people and planet – and we’ve implemented life cycle assessment (LCA) for all our main products”, says Caroline Peltier, environmental engineer at Steelcase in Strasbourg.

C2C started in the USA and according to Caroline Peltier, it is widely recognised there. “It’s taking longer in Europe. We’ve only just started here, and it’s a major process.”
Steelcase was one of the first companies to prefer suppliers with C2C – including Gabriel.

“I’ve worked with Gabriel on sustainability for three years,” says Caroline Peltier, “and it’s very efficient. They too are heavily engaged in sustainability.”

“It’s important – and necessary – to have a close working relationship with the supplier. And we’ve always had a close working relationship with Gabriel,” Ms Peltier concludes.
