Cradle to Cradle is the object of considerable attention in the Netherlands. It was therefore critical for the Dutch firm Ahrend that Gabriel can now supply C2C in colours matching the existing standard range*. 

Kees de Boer, designer and person responsible for promotion of C2C, says:
“As a designer, I know how important the colours are. You cannot sell environmental correctness if the colours are uninspiring.”

The company, which makes office furniture, has been working with Gabriel for a number of years approaching silver wedding anniversary status.

“Gabriel is a very competent company” Kees de Boer emphasises, “with a very thorough knowledge of their products – and the will to share this knowledge. And that’s critical. The development of new products requires long-term and trusting relationships – and Gabriel is extremely helpful.”

The partnership with C2C commenced three years ago, and with Gabriel’s help, Ahrend can now present the C2C-certified model A2020 – with Gaja fabric in ten colours.

“We’re very satisfied with this,” says Kees de Boer. “The Ahrend 2020 series are the result of our CSR visions, in which ecologically friendly design and Cradle to Cradle principles are central.”
